I was excited when I saw Malaysia Airlines jumped into the social media bandwagon. As I read about the latest ASEAN Pass promotion in their Facebook page, I was appalled with the English!
I tried to rationale with myself that the style of writing may be intentional i.e. talk like a Gen Y! As we know, Gen Y speaks with a dose of letters and symbols such as :-), lol, brb, :-b
Then again, is their grammar and spelling that bad too?

I hope MAS's level of (English) standard and carelessness are not reflected in the way the pilot maneuver the plane I'm in or the standard of service I'll receive from the stewardess.

Hi Alan,
I couldn't help but giggle at this exposé of yours. While we are intentional with the colloquialism of our lingo, I'll admit that there are often typos aplenty - especially when deadlines are tight.
Thanks for noting this with a pinch of salt, we'll definitely be more meticulous given the dent in our pride - "oooh, the tikam!" ;)

If it was another unknown or small company, I wouldn't have spent the time and effort to blog about it. But it is MAS! You know what I mean :-)

I'm from an agency, but we don't exactly call ourselves agents.. haha! But our digital team comprises both agency people as well as the employees. Quite a diverse team.
